IAWC Resources
The IAWC Resources hub is a curated library of evidence-informed toolkits supporting counselor wellness across thirteen specialty areas, from emotional regulation and relational care to military, veteran, and caregiver wellbeing. Each page pairs practical, ready-to-use tools with research grounding, equipping counselors and counselor educators to sustain their own wellness while serving increasingly diverse client populations.
Faculty Wellness
Focused on the wellbeing of counselor educators balancing teaching, supervision, scholarship, and the gatekeeping responsibilities of the profession. Resources target academic boundaries, departmental communication, and burnout prevention for the people training the next generation of counselors.
Parental and Caregiver Wellness
Focused on the cognitive labor, burnout, and boundary strain experienced by parents and caregivers across the lifespan. Curated tools support self-care that fits real caregiving schedules, normalizes the emotional weight of caregiving, and helps counselors serve the parents and caregivers in their own caseloads. This page centers one of the most universally shared yet routinely overlooked wellness challenges.
Relational Wellness
Dedicated to fostering healthy interpersonal dynamics, effective communication, and secure emotional attachments across couples, partnerships, and evolving family systems. This page equips counselors with evidence-based relational frameworks, conflict resolution strategies, and systemic boundary-setting tools to support clients in cultivating deeply meaningful, resilient connections throughout major life transitions.
Women's Wellness
An intersectional, gender-responsive collection spanning the full lifespan, from hormonal transitions to societal perfectionism. This page centers the ways gender shapes health, identity, and care, equipping counselors to deliver treatment that reflects lived experience rather than a one-size-fits-all model.
Spiritual Wellness
Centered on the safe, ethically grounded integration of existential and spiritual dimensions into clinical work. Resources support meaning-making, values exploration, and spiritual assessment while honoring client autonomy and diverse belief systems. This page serves practitioners who want to address spirituality without overstepping clinical boundaries.
Holistic Wellness
Dedicated to integrating the mind, body, spirit, and social environment into a cohesive approach to well-being. Rooted in foundational wellness models—such as the Indivisible Self and Wheel of Wellness frameworks—this page equips counselors with evidence-based, multidimensional assessment tools, integrative self-care models, and systemic lifestyle interventions to support clients in achieving comprehensive balance and intentional life harmony.
Military Family and Active Duty Wellness
Focused on deployment stress, reintegration, and the cultural shifts experienced by active-duty service members and their families. This page provides transition timelines, coping roadmaps, and culturally responsive tools for clinicians working with a population that carries distinct operational and relational pressures.
Perinatal Wellness
Dedicated to supporting emotional well-being, attachment, and systemic adjustment throughout pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and early parenthood. This page equips counselors with evidence-based screening tools, trauma-informed interventions for perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs), and practical coping strategies for high-stakes reproductive and family transitions.
